Interview: Shoes and exploding in Ms. Splosion Man

I sat down with Twisted Pixel’s Jay Stuckwisch at E3 and watched as he made a woman explode over and over again. It was hot. It was also really fun!Ms. Splosion Manis upping the insanity by giving us more worlds, crazy multiplayer features and shoes. So many pairs of shoes! It’s a bunch of fun and the game is as challenging as ever too. Luckily, our video editor, Bob Muir, didn’t include the footage of how I kept failing over in over in the one level I played....

It only took three months, but I think I finally get Wii Music

I’m sure I’m not the only one who just didn’tget itwhen Nintendo announced Wii Music at E3 earlier this year. I mean, they were pretty excited about it — as Nintendo tend to be about all things Nintendo — but it just seemed so … simple. The gist, based on the live E3 demonstration and subsequent demos: you wave your arms around, it makes music. Well, OK then. But after seeing Nintendo’s presentation at Nintendo’s Media Summit last week, and once again getting my hands on the game, I think I’m starting toget it....

Killzone 3 ‘more fluid, less irritating’ than KZ2

It is a common developer tactic to badmouth your last game as you prepare for the sequel, and Guerrilla Games is no exception. Kudo brings Natal to Late Night with Jimmy Fallon

Apparently, Jimmy Fallon is serious about this whole videogame thing. He is, as far as I know, the first late night host to feature multiple games-industry personalities. On last night’sLate Night with Jimmy Fallon, he demonstrated his dedication to games by inviting on Microsoft’s Kudo Tsunoda to demonstrate Project Natal. Much of what’s demonstrated is what we saw at the press conference, like the “Breakout with your body” demo. Fallon and company even get into the action, hopping right in and knocking balls around with relative ease....

Lord of Arcana gameplay trailer has a dragon in it

The other day, Square Enix announcedLord of Arcana, a new PSP RPG that seemed to be taking a page fromMonster Hunter‘s playbook. A new gameplay trailer has surfaced that confirms the Capcom-flavored influence, as a dude with a big sword beats on a dragon, presumably for morally justified reasons. I haven’t touched my PSP in ten billion years, so it’s always good to learn of a new game in the works....

Lost Planet coming to PS3 loaded with content

It’s been almost a year since Xbox 360 owners first had their chances to get chilly with Capcom’sLost Planet. The game received decent reviews and community feedback, although we only gave it alukewarm reception. Still, that was enough to warrant a subsequent PC release, and a slew of updates and downloadable content.
