Sony profits drop by 70 per cent, but PS3 sales double

The current financial climate is being unkind to all except the people who are paid to come up with ridiculous buzz terms like “credit crunch” or “financial tsunami.” Sony is feeling the burn, as the company’s profit hasfallen by over 70 percentyear-on-year. Ouch. Sony’s net income has plummeted from JPY 73.7 billion (USD 760 million) to JPY 20.8 billion (USD 200 million). Blame is being put upon the strength of the Yen, which is hurting the company’s export business, and decline in stock value following thanks to the great depression....

Street Fighter IV PC will require a PC, also a video card

This just in: PC requirements are bananas. Capcom recently released the minimum and maximum specs that you need to have in order to fully enjoyStreet Fighter IV. They seem particularly beefy to me, mainly because I don’t believe my actual PC could rock anything nastier thanQuest for Glory III. (And, hell, even that stutters.) Minimum OS:Windows XPCPU:Intel Pentium4 2.0GHz or higherRAM:1GB or higherHDD:10GB of free space or moreVideo Card:DirectX 9.0c/Shader3.0 or higher compatible, NVIDIA GeForce6600 series, ATI Radeon(TM) X1600 or higher or higher, VRAM :256MB or higherSound:DirectSound compatible, DirectX 9....

The most ridiculous controller I’ve ever seen

Seriously, it’s out of control. And, technically, it’s not even a controller per se — more of an add-on for your existing controller. The Avenger, as it has been dubbed, is specifically designed for people who aren’t happy with their competitive online game performances, and want to obliterate the equal playing field. This contraption has been the talk of the morning between Nick and I, mostly because of how absurd it looked initially....
