Hey all. Just a quick update from the E3 team — they’re stuck in a spot where they can’t get wi-fi, so the conference can’t be liveblogged. HELL YEAH! I have been looking forward to theICO/Shadow of the ColossusHD collection every since it was first announced, and now I know I will be playing it this September … in 3D! It’s nice to know the game will be officially out in only a few months, but the implementation of 3D comes as quite the surprise! What do you think? Do you care about 3D addition? Or do you just want to OMG PLAY THESE GAMES IN HD RIGHT NOW?...
Did…did you see that little Zelda clip?! When Nintendo showed off the Wii U this morning at their press conference, there was a little bit of a clip of a HD Zelda game worked into the video montage. We saw some inventory action on the Wii U controller, but I was more hung up on the very short clip of the actual unannounced game. It was a big, beautiful boss fight....
Electronic Arts has announced the impending release ofDragon Age: Origins Ultimate Edition. This retail release collects the originalDragon Age: Originswith the content fromAwakeningsand six downloadable content expansions. It’s a value of $114 but you’ll be able to buy it soon for the low, low price of $59.99. No exact date of release has been given(It is, but I am a blind idiot. October 26th -Ed)though it sounds like a good deal if you haven’t picked up the game yet....
The news that Microsoft wasraising prices for a number of Xbox Live Gold subscriptionswas met with uniform negativity among gamers, but EEDAR analyst Jesse Divinch thinks otherwise. Defending the price raise, Divinch claims that the subscriptions are still “incredible value” for consumers. The thing is, a lot of Xbox Live’s “value” can only be seen from one perspective — a perspective where none of Xbox Live’s offerings are available in a better form and/or free elsewhere....
We’re not going to freak out until we find out our memories have been replaced and are now being powered by Epic’s engine. But we are getting a bit scared. Today, Destineer has announced that they have licensed Unreal Engine 3 for a yet-to-be revealed project. “We are using the Unreal Engine to make a game for a genre in which you would not expect to see it,” says Destineer president, Peter Tamte....

Several people (including our very own Nick Chester) braved the cold, rain, and football-sized hail last evening to get copies ofFallout 3from a Best Buy in Rockville, Maryland. Bethesda has just announced that it will be presenting a “post-apocalyptic film festival” to be held at Santa Monica’s Aero Theater on August 22 and 23. Six movies themed around the idea of life after global catastrophe are due to be screened, includingWizards,A Boy and His Dog, and many other films that you’ve probably never heard of. Good ol’DaKing240has gotten his hands on anotherlist of achievements, this time for BioWare’s upcoming third-person action RPG,Mass Effect. There are 45 achievements in all, adding up to a grand total of 1000 gamerscore points as per the norm. Among the various goals you’ll have to accomplish in order to unlock ’em all include getting one of your characters to level 60, beating the game twice, and completing a “romance subplot.”...
Basically,Final Fantasy VIIis coming out. The big problem is it’s only Advent Children on Blu-Ray. According toFinalFantasyIII.net, Advent Children: Complete will hit retailers next March, with a playable demo ofFFXIIIright out of the box. The information was relayed at Square’s DKΣ3713thingin Japan. A few trailers will also be included in the two disc Advent Children release, including one forFinal Fantasy Versus XIIIand the PSP release ofFinal Fantasy Agito XIII. The entire set will be in glorious HD, so you can see Cid’s mouth muscles twist as he smokes his cigarette....

In an effort to try to catch up to their competition, Activision has announced that it will be releasing five downloadable song packs forGuitar Hero III: Legends of Rockin June.
