The latest issue of Famitsu has an interview with Akihiro Hino, producer of theProfessor Laytonseries where he has announced the name of the latest project from Level 5. It will be called Time Traveler and is being developed for hardware not currently available. Could that be 3DS? Probably a fair bet, but Hino wasn’t giving up the goods. He is teaming up with Jino Ishi, director of a highly acclaimed Wii visual novel,428....

Electronics firm LG has filed a patent infringement suit against Sony, demanding that the platform holder stop selling PlayStation 3 consoles and Bravia televisions. LG claims that TVs infringe four patents, while the PS3’s Blu-ray player infringes a further four. According to the suit, the problems stem from the way in which the PS3 handles multiple data streams and reproduces data from read-only sources. Sony, for its part, isn’t just the receiver in this legal buggery, having already gone after LG cellphones for seven patent violations, and filed a civil suit over LG Blu-ray players....

Here’s one we missed from a while ago. This isMonkey Labour, a game which draws its style from the LCD games of yesteryear. The player is a robot working for an abusive monkey, trying to stop his boss from throwing things by setting him on fire. So it wins points for an entertaining premise, at least, and it’s currently on sale for only a buck. The issue I have with the trailer is that it asks me to, “remember the old days when games used to be fun....
