Dragon’s Lair hits the iPhone

Well, thisscrews up my head. When I was young and used to sneak off to the arcade to look at games and bum quarters, I remember staring in awe atDragon’s Laircabinets, and I remember reading that state-of-the-art Laserdisc technology is what made this game possible. It was light years ahead of anything we’d ever have at home. And now it’s running on a phone. Don Bluth’s classic game is up on the iTunes App Store for only $4....

E3 09: Burch ‘n Davis play Scribblenauts

Shoved in a lonely little corner of the show floor was 5th Cell’sScribblenauts. Even the DS display was facing backwards from everything else, making the game hidden from the rest of the world save for a lone banner announcing its location. The game was obviously getting no love back there, so Anthony and I went over to give it a shot. We both really enjoy the DS games that the developer has offered so far (Drawn to Life,Lock’s Quest), and were really excited to have hands-on time withScribblenauts....

E3: Majesco details line-up, includes Hogan, Rayne

Majesco has a pretty interesting line-up for E3 this year, including threeMamatitles, one Kinect wrestling game, and the return of a busty vampire-killing dhampir. The full list of games can be found after the jump, two of which are Facebook titles (one of which is aCooking Mamatitle). I can’t recall seeing Facebook games at E3 before, which may be indicative of a notable industry trend. Maybe Facebook games should get their own E3....

EA expects a PS3.5 and an Xbox 560 before next generation

Electronic Arts chief creative officer Rich Hilleman is one of many people who expect this current generation to drag on and on. EA: German game restricitions are censorship

Most people who aren’t German politicians will tell you that Germany’s reaction to so-called “killer games” is childish and ludicrous. Gamers, the gaming press and developers have all voiced dismay over Germany’s treatment of the game industry, and now Electronic Artshas chipped into condemn the nonsensical behavior of the Fourth Reich. “What we’re doing here is censorship,”ragesEA executive VP and GM of international publishing Gerhard Florin. “And nobody complains. Elevator Action Death Parade in elevating action

Last year, Chad “I have a new favorite videogame every week” Concelmo told us about hisnew favorite videogame of the week. It was the relaunch of theElevator Actionseries as a light gun game that involved actual elevator doors opening and closing (a wise choice for his favoritist videogame EVAR for that week). Sadly, the game wasn’t launching until next year (now) and was only coming out in arcades in Japan. Un-sadly, Joystiq is in Japan (now) for the Amusement Machine Show and had a chance to film themselves playing the game so we can all see how it actually works....

Engineer class Covenant finally makes it into a Halo game

The Engineers have long been talked about in theHalonovels. They’re a class of super smart aliens that can fix anything they touch. For whatever reason, the Engineers were never in an actualHalogame, until now. GameVideoshas a newHalo 3: ODSTvideo up showing the floating little aliens as they move around the battlefield. We don’t see what the Engineers can actually do, but I suspect they are some sort of support class alien and will aid the other Covenant forces in some way....
