Check out the official Metroid Prime Trilogy box art

That’s right, we’ve managed to get our hands on the final box art for the upcomingMetroid Prime Trilogycoming out for the Wii on August 24th. Not only will the game come in a neat looking case, but there is also a stylish sleeve surrounding it for DOUBLE the box art! While the 2D Metroid games are still my favorite, I really liked thePrimeseries and thought it did a great job translating the feel of the original into a 3D setting....

Check out these vicious Malicious screenshots

Yesterday weposted a trailerfor PS3 exclusiveMalicious, a downloadable title from Japan that is looking incredibly sexy. The reaction was almost unanimously positive, so here’s a huge bunch of screenshots for you to gawp at! It’s really surprising that this is a PSN title as it has all the look of a retail game. Hopefully the gameplay matches the confidence of the visuals, although it would appear we have little to fear on that front if the trailer was anything to go by....

Chugging along with Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks

I have to indulge in a little narcissism right: not only did I get farther along in the second dungeon ofLegend of Zelda: Spirit Tracksthan any other journalist who previewed the game, I had all of Nintendo congratulate me on the achievement. I then proceeded to destroy them in the freshly announced multiplayer mode (except one round where I lost horribly, but we don’t talk about that.) All in all, I came away as the bestZeldaplayer in the universe, proving once and for all a college education is really going to change your life....

Church attacks Resident Evil, Capcom fights back

Thank God for the clergy! Those guardians of our frail humanity are always here to set things right, and they have protected us fromResident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles, a game that glamorizes violence and promotes the occult. Several men of the Churchhave attackedCapcom’s latest Wii shooter, because that isexactlywhat the Church should be worrying about. “If we dabble in this area we open ourselves to influences and put ourselves at risk,” writes Rt Rev John Goddard....

Creating Brad Nicholson in Champions Online is easy

Creating the perfect character inChampions Onlinetakes time. There are hundreds of clothing and armor options, as well as a truckload of facial and body construction tweaks. Cryptic Studios discourages the creation of Batman or Iron Man by providing all the equipment — there’s a finite amount of customization here, folks — but there’s still tons of room to let your creativity run wild. In many ways, creating aChampionscharacter is like creating the perfect fighter inFight Night Round 4, except this pugilist is a world-saving freak that can spew telekinetic energy from his noggin or crush the universe with his mighty forearms (or chest)....

If you were a fan of the spookyCursed Mountain, we have some bad news for you. Developer Deep Silver Vienna has closed its doors after only one game, due to financial issues. Probably because they developed an interesting Wii game, meaning nobody bought it. Dark Souls to get a larger, more open world

Good.Demon’s Soulstight corners and narrow corridors made me so nervous that it probably took months off my life in stress. I’m sure follow-upDark Soulswill do the same, but at least I can take comfort in knowing that the game world is a bit larger, and more open. This tidbit comes from1UP’s Q&Asession with game director Hidetaka Miyazaki. He wouldn’t drop much info about the upcoming title, but he did say we can expect a world map about 1....

Dave Quiles blows us away with his Celsius Aran

I won’t pretend to know much about the toy/figurine scene other than what I catch briefly over atTomopop, but I think that even with my limited background in the field I can comfortably say that thisCelsius Aranfigure by Dave Quiles is amazing. Collectors of such things, can we agree on this? The figure has hand carved lines and sculpted accents that just make it pop, and the detail is simply incredible....

Destructoid Review: Marble Saga Kororinpa

The originalKororinpa:Marble Maniamay have been a very simple game, but I can honestly say I enjoyed it more than anything else that came out for the Wii that year. A no-frills challenge combined with marbles that sported a bit more personality than your usual marble roller made for a pretty great experience. It seems I may not have been the only person to think so, as Hudson announced last year that a sequel was on the way....

Deus Ex: Human Revolution ships 2 million units

Adam Jensen, the brooding, sunglasses loving, augmented bad ass fromDeus Ex: Human Revolutionis probablydoing a little danceright now. Eidos-Montreal’s first game, which came out late last month, shipped 2 million units in North America, Europe and PAL territories. That’s not too shabby, but since it’s a prequel to one of the most beloved PC games of all time it’s hardly a surprise. It helps that it waspretty damn goodto boot. If you haven’t had enough cyberpunk action don’t fret....

Devs respond to PS3 Ghostbusters controversy, make it worse

The ridiculous fanboy wars spilled over into multiplatform territory recently when the PS3 version of Terminal Reality’sGhostbusterswas said to run at a lower resolution to the Xbox 360 version. While normal human beings wouldn’t really care, controversy happened and now Terminal Reality has issued a statement to counter the claims of inferiority, invardently making the problem sound worse. “For the record, the PS3 version [of Ghostbusters] is softer due to the ‘quincunx’ antialiasing filter and the fact we render at about 75% the resolution of the 360 version,”explainsthe studio....

DJ Hero Daft Punk screens are looking incredible

We reported last weekthat Daft Punk would be contributing a slew of exclusive mixes to the upcomingDJ Hero, and as I expected, quite a few people in the comments were swayed towards shelling out the money for the game once they saw the news (me included). As if you needed further convincing, Activision released a few screenshots of Daft Punk in-game … and oh boy. Oh boy. The game and controller set will be out this October 27th, and already can be preordered through retailers such asAmazonfor the not-so-low price of $118....
