Canadian researcher suggests gaming may be good for the brain

A researcher, Jim Karle, at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada recentlyreleased a studythat claims that gaming directly benefits short term memory. In his studies so far, it seems that gamers complete memory-based tests faster and with fewer errors than those who do not game. One could argue that his study has a somewhat low sample size, or that it takes place in Canada (where people are bred for their delicious brains), but this is definitely a nice juxtaposition from the recent (and prolonged) media saturation of the violence that gamers cause....
