The Raincoat Killer could get his own spin-off game, according to barmy developer Swery65. Deadly Premonition’s hooded, axe-wielding antagonist was (spoiler) briefly playable during Deadly Premonition, and Swery thinks a full game starring the homicidal maniac could be worth making. “A prequel is definitely one of the paths I still have in mind,” said Swery, reiteratingprevious game plans. “Another approach is like a spin-off fromDeadly Premonitionwhere the main character would be the Raincoat Killer....

During my first few days withPatapon 2, I dug the progression system. Little did I know, these mechanics would go on to become my most hated part of the game. Everything else — and I meaneverything— about the quirky rhythm game rocked, in my eyes. At EA’s E3 press conference, DICE was on hand to big upBattlefield 3‘s “Best in class” multiplayer and reveal BattleLog, a system that can be used to launch the game and communicate with players, in a manner similar to EA’s Autolog. It’s not really Nintendo’s fault, but the fault of third party hacks who are using the Wii’s popularity and the general intelligence of the mainstream public to mass produce crap for everyone’s favorite white box o’ waggle. Earlier this week, Gearbox was nice enough to send over a build ofBorderland‘s second piece of downloadable content, “Mad Moxxi’s Underdome Riot.” That’s the good news. The bad news is that I’d have to play the game on one our Xbox 360 debug test units, reserved for playing early preview and review code. What that meant is that I’d have to start a new character from scratch, as I had no saved games or characters on my test kit....

This week’s fake game was conceptualized and attractively Photoshopped bypissedcheese, a man whose alias conjures up all manner of unpleasant mental images. In case Luigi’s suit and exclamation didn’t clue you in, cheese came up withLuigi Mario: 1up Attorney, a parody/spinoff of thePhoenix Wrightseries. Defend some of Nintendo’s biggest celebrities against the crimes that made them famous: Pauline vs Donkey Kong, Bowser vs Mario, Peach vs Anyone Who Thinks Peach is a Huge Bitch....

Square Enix has releasedFinal Fantasy IIIfor your iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad. The publisher is known for charging silly amounts of money for its mobile games, but this may have broken the record —Final Fantasy IIIiOS will set you back $15.99. If there’s a more expensive iOS game, I don’t currently know about it. The last game that I remember boasting such a price was the iPad version ofChaos Rings— published, unsurprisingly, by Square Enix....

Like a television event? I’m not sure, but that’s what a script from an upcoming unnamed event makes it sound like. Los Angeles based commercial ad agency Liz Paulson Casting is looking for someone to do some kind of presentation that will reveal the U.S.Final Fantasy XIIIrelease date.Siliconerahas a bit of the script from the casting call.
