You may remember that not too long agoAlone in the Darkdeveloper Eden Studios said that they would bring theXbox 360 version of the gameup to the same standards of the PlayStation 3 version. The PS3 version is supposedly bereft of all that minor stuff like the clunky inventory, terrible driving and camera system. Apparently, the patch for the Xbox 360 version of the game is only coming if people buy the PS3 version of the game....

Ubisoft has confirmed that the originalPrince of Persiais heading to Xbox Live Arcade sometime in the early Summer. The original 1989 classic gave the titular hero sixty minutes to rescue the princess from the clutches of the evil Vizier, as if there are non-evil ones. Seriously, when does a job title with a “v” and a “z” in itnotrequire some small iota of nefariousness?...

Okay, so it’s a bit cheesy, but that is what’s so great about thisAlone in the Darktrailer. I don’t often talk about the quality of a trailer itself more than the footage it shows, but I have to say that this particular video really impressed me with the level of direction and style on display — it really put me in mind of a Hollywood summer blockbuster trailer, and I dig it....

My pal Cheapy D (Cheap Ass Gamer) lives in Tokyo, but he likes him some North American territory game systems. He ordered a PlayStation Vita at E3 and just now got a ship date for his order: January 2012. Being in Japan, with the item shipping from North America, he’ll get it that first week of January. Since I’ve heard this a few of our readers that also placed orders are getting the same news....

Remember about 2 weeks ago when Amazonhad a dealwhere they sold 1000 Xbox 360 core systems for $100? Apparently, that sale was more interesting to consumers than the release of either of the other next-gen systems. Analyst firm Competejust released a studythat compared the online traffic garnered from that promotion versus the online traffic generated by the new systems’ launches and apparently people care more about the $100 Xbox 360. Not only that, but they find that while it isn’t quite drawing the same level of interest as the newly released systems, the Xbox 360 has enjoyed a massive upswing in popularity since the launch, and while the Wii is still beloved, the PlayStation 3 had a 15% drop in interest only a week after it’s launch....

Videogame publishers will send all manner of weird and wonderful things to people like me, because they’re under the false impression that we’re important. I haven’t let them know that we’re actually just a bunch of overpaid, undereducated simpletons who were lucky enough to get more than 100 readers a day, and that’s a good thing too, otherwise I wouldn’t have this bento box. I’m about as ignorant as Japanese culture as they come, so I have no idea what this thing is....

[Art Attack Friday is your weekly look at videogame fan art created by a talented artist.] Let’s be honest here: calling Jalonso’s pixel pushing “fan art” is a bit misleading. Looking at his work, you can tell that he’s afanof games for sure, but his art is a little different than just drawing pictures of Link and Samus (not that there’s anything wrong with that!). To boot, unlike many of the artists featured on Art Attack Friday, Jalonso has done a bit of commercial art — and it shows, since his pixelart is incrediblybadass....

Atlus really wants to make it worth your while to buy the American edition ofDemon’s Souls, and so they’ve decided to sweeten the offer by adding in the game’s soundtrack on top of the 40-page artbook and all the other goodies they’re throwing in. The 71-minute CD contains the haunting music of Shunsuke Kida, and is reason enough for me to pre-order the title. I won’t pretend to know what James Cameron’sAvataris all about. If you pay close attention, you’ll notice that the movie’s title has neither the words “Terminator” or “Robocop” in it — this is a huge problem for me and my attention span. Still,there’s a videogame based on the propertyhitting in the near future, so I suppose I should get my act together. And what better time than now? Earlier this afternoon, publisher Ubisoft dropped another trailer for the exciting videogame property featuring blue dudes that ride quasi-dragons and fire explosive arrows from longbows....
