MotoHeroz is ‘racing game thrills,’ ‘platformer charm’

While RedLynx may have found its biggest success withTrials HD, the truth is that its upcoming WiiWare titleMotoHerozhas a longer history. “MotoHerozfirst saw the light of day as a prototype for a mobile phone game,” RedLynx creative director Antii Ilvessuo tells me, noting that this was years beforeTrials HDwas even a consideration. That particular iteration of the title never saw the light of day “for variosus reasons,” but the developer was shrewd enough not to let the concept die....

Instead, they’ve justtweeted the above imageas a “special treat” to its account followers. New Brink video explains a myriad of battlefield tactics

The finalBrinkvideo in its “Get SMART” series explains how command posts, turrets, mines, and disguises can be used for battlefield control. Turrets in particular can be very effective when placed in strategic positions, as I noticed in amultiplayer sessionat gamescom last year, although I bet players will get good at using the SMART controls to circumvent turrets in no time once the game is released next week.

Oh, so this is how you make House of the Dead: Overkill

I think it would be a stretch to say I’m “cautiously optimistic” aboutHouse of the Dead: Overkillfor the Wii. When reports were floating around that a Swedish magazine gave the game a relatively abysmal three out of ten, I didn’t think that wasdue to a printer-smudged “eight.”Mediocrity doesn’t seem unlikely. But I haven’t played it yet — that will have to wait until next week at New York Comic Con — so I’ll withhold my final judgment....
