A few weeks ago, we gave you a look at thefirst screenshotsof the inaugural edition of EA Sports’ new tennis franchise,Grand Slam Tennis. In my post, I said that I found the images “impressive” because EA is being smart with the game’s look — since realistic graphics don’t really make sense (or work) on the Wii,Grand Slam Tennisfeatures stylized visuals. That puts the focus on the gameplay instead of the graphics, and that’s never a bad thing....
It seems crazy to me that the ESRB has the power to censor logos and box art, but they certainly have the power. They did it withLeft 4 Dead 2, and now they’re doing it withDead Island. Having a cool image means nothing when there aresensibilitiesto protect! The original logo features the silhouette of a corpse hanging from a palm tree. The new North American logo just has a regular zombie shambling along instead....
The Witcherhas had a rough ride as far as consoles are concerned. The original PC game was due to arrive on the Xbox 360 asRise of the White Wolf, but disappeared without a trace.The sequelhas been caught in on/off limbo as far consoles go. Electronic Arts and its EA Play label is justifying your decision to throw away all of those dusty physical board games, today announcingHasbro Family Game Night 3for a Fall 2010 release. The title is headed to PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Wii, and will feature digital versions of The Game of Life, Clue, Twister, Mouse Trap, and Yahtzee Hands Down.
