Ubisoft have a history with their PlayStation 3 “exclusives.” TakeAssassin’s Creedfor instance — for awhile, they tried to convince the world that the game was going to be coming to Sony’s console only. Forget the fact that people had seen the game being played on an Xbox 360 and/or a PC (myself included).

It appears the same thing is happening with Free Radical’s forthcoming drug addicted first-person shooter,Haze. The impressive looking title was once slated for a multiplatform release, with Free Radical employees themselves confirming the development of the title for at least the Xbox 360. More recently, the game has been shown off with the “PlayStation 3 exclusive” angle, but nothing has been confirmed.

Here’s the deal,according to Ubisoft:

Today, Ubisoft said that currently no other versions in development, and although it was still leaving the door open in the future for “new partnerships,” currently the game is indeed only planned for the PS3. A spokesperson said, “The official statement on PC and Xbox 360 is that these platforms are not confirmed.”

Take that how you will, but GameSpot also points out that the officialHazeWeb site currently only lists PS3 as the game’s platform, and Ubisoft’s site backs that up. But at the end of the day, when all is said and done: Is there anyone that really cares at this point?
