We’ve been hearing rumblings of an Xbox 360 Elite price drop for a little while now and this Walmart ad has confirmed what we knew was coming. The Xbox 360 Elite will be going for $299 starting next Sunday, a $100 price drop and putting the system square againstPS3 Slim.

The Xbox 360 Elite won’t be coming with an HDMI cable, which is no surprise. What is surprising, though, is that the system is coming with composite cables rather than component cables. Sure, the cables aren’t that expensive anymore but it’s really annoying that the PS3 and now Xbox 360, both consoles that have been pushing consumers into the Hi-Def era, don’t come with Hi-Def cables.
