Online play has become one of the most essential features in this generation of gaming. With so many multiplayer-oriented games coming out for the Wii, you have to wonder why Nintendo has beenso hesitantin jumping on the online bandwagon. Suprisingly enough, it’s actually starting to look like they’re ready to bring the heat.
In a recent interview withThe Mercury News, Nintendo president Reggie Fils-Aime discussed the future of Wii online play:
As for online, Reggie said thatPokemon Battle Revolutionis doing well in Japan and would be the first online title in the U.S. He said online development kits have been seeded and titles are coming.
Now if only Nintendo would scrap theirfriend code systemfor something a little more … practical.
