Considering the relative success ofDante’s Inferno(both commercially and for the most part, critically), it’s not surprising to guess that Visceral Games might be working on a follow up. But a job listing making the rounds now makes it all the more obvious.

The studio is currently seeking a level designer for “the sequel to a major new IP at the award-winning Visceral Games.” More hints that it’s aDante’s Infernofollow-up? “The game sequel will set new quality standards and make the franchise the world-leader in the action/melee-combat genre.” Yup, that sounds about right.

Since prior to the game’s release, the game’s producer Jonathan Knight had openly discussed that he had ideas for a sequel. In fact, from what I could gather while doing early previews of the title, it had already been mapped out or at least seriously discussed.

As a fan of the first game (I know, I may be in the minority here), I’m looking forward to seeing Visceral taking it to the next level. “Purgatorio” anyone?
