Let’s hear it for the UK and their support of videogames! The Daily Telegraphis reporting that more money was spent on videogames in 2009 than on films. In the twelve months to the end of September 2009, a whopping £1.73 billion was spent on videogames data company GFK Chart-Track says, but only around £1 billion was spent on movie tickets and £198 million spent on film titles released on DVD and Blu-ray.

WE’RE NUMBER ONE! WE’RE NUMBER ONE!

Or wait, we’re actually number three. The British seem to enjoy watching television (including DVD sales and “cable” subscriptions) and listening to music more. Come on guys, not only do youcall soccer by the wrong name, but you’re gonna let television beat out gaming. Pull it together!
