With all the talk of corporate takeovers and soul stealing that have been going on lately, one companycertainly isn’t quickto dismiss the idea of being swallowed up by corporate demons.
Valve’s Doug Lombardi has stated he would be “happy to have that conversation” when asked about the possibility of his company being taken over. The house that Gordon Freeman built isn’t actively looking to be acquired, with Lombardi adding: “The company’s doing pretty well, and we’re really happy with what we’re doing. So we’ll see. I mean, anything is possible.”
A natural candidate for future Valve acquisition would, of course, be Electronic Arts, who is known to have a good working relationship with the company.“EA was very progressive about saying, ‘We understand who you guys are,” explained Lombardi.“‘We understand what Steam is. We don’t want Steam to go away.’ Well, they might want Steam to go away, but they’re not asking us to make Steam go away.”
If EA would also like to acquiremyself, I am open to the idea of John Ricitiello mounting a hostile takeover.
