In an interview earlier this month, designer Justin Richmond revealed that thestudio was working on competitive DLC, not cooperative. Richmond used the same general examples — maps, characters, and modes — to explain what the studio is shooting for in regards to the expected DLC.

In the more recent interview, Hennig said that some of the DLC might not carry a price tag, while other bits will indeed cost real coin.

“Some of it will be free of charge and some of it will be purchasable. We’ve got a lot of people on the team working on this stuff, some really cool stuff that people will be excited about. So we’re definitely taking it very seriously,” said Hennig.

We’re all about free stuff, especially if it involves ice cream or additional videogame content, so we’ll definitely take DLC at zero charge. It’ll be interesting to see what ends up being free versus what Naughty Dog chooses to charge for as the DLC. We’ll have to check this out again as the details come in.
