We heard Twitter buzz last night, but the news comes out in full force this morning onJoystiq. They say thatUGO Entertainmentis in talks with Ziff Davis Media to buy up network sites like 1UP, GameVideos, and MyCheats.com.

The anonymous source says that the two companies are in “very advanced talks,” and that the 1UP staff were informed yesterday of the deal in a meeting. UGO execs may be flying out to meet the Ziff Davis staff as early as today.

UGO Entertainment Network wants some new web sites, but they’re not interested in purchasing eitherElectronic Gaming Monthlymagazine or FileFront.com. Face! Kidding, but Joystiq says that Ziff has had trouble selling ads for the upcoming issues ofEGMlately, pointing to a possible end for the long-running mag.

Not much else is known about the deal now. We’ll pass on more details as they come out.
