Recent domain name registrations spotted bysuperannuationmay hint at the future of Ubisoft’s biggest franchise, as well as the location of a long overdue sequel.
The domain name assassinscreedbrotherhood.com was registered on April 14, and could be a number of things. The most obvious would be the name of an upcomingAssassin’s Creedtitle; the publisher has already revealed that it plans to ship afollow up toAssassin’s Creed 2this year. Of course,Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhoodwould make a great name for a game, but could also be a catch-all web destination for the franchise.
The publisher has also registered driversanfrancisco.com, which seems to be a pretty solid confirmation that the nextDrivertitle will take place in San Francisco. The next game in theDriverseries has also been confirmed by the publisher, yet no details have been given. About a year ago Ubisoft registered for a Driver-related trademark which hinted that the title may be calledDriver: The Recruit.
E3’s supposed to be a big one this year, with plenty of announcements, and I suspect we’ll see one or both of these games pop up sooner rather than later.
