I understand why commercials for music games likeGuitar HeroandRock Bandshow people, well, rocking out — but it always seemed like deceptive advertising to me. Well, I guess “deceptive” isn’t necessarily the correct term. But the ads usually show people jumping around and bobbing their heads, and anyone who’s even a semi-serious music game player knows that if you start really getting into the music, you’re pretty much guaranteed to start missing notes.
But I get it. They want to show that they’re providing a full band experience, that you can feel like a rock star in your living room. That’s cool. If you want to check that out, watch the above video, which is a commercial forAC/DC Live: Rock Band Track Packthat started airing last week. It features “Whole Lotta Rosie,” and there’s another one after the jump with “Let There Be Rock.” The latter song is on theRock Band 2disc, but both of these ads use theLive at Doningtonversions from the track pack, naturally.
