What was once a blurry scan from an issueShonen JUMPis now a series of slightly-less-blurry screenshots from a Sony product page.
Of course, I’m referring toBleach: Soul Ignition, a new game based on everyone’s favorite superpowered-dudes-cutting-other-dudes weekly anime series. And as a treat for people who like graphics, this one’s destined for the PlayStation 3.
The burning question, then, is what type of gameSoul Ignitionwill turn out to be. Judging from the screenshots (which show a lot of Ichigo, Rukia, and Uryuu), the gameplay seems more mobile than, say, the 2D duels ofHeat the Soul, the seven-strong series of PSP fighters that make up the majority of recentBleachgames.
Bleach-drinkers, your prayers have been answered. There’s aBleachgame on HD consoles! That said, after playinga certainNarutotitle, the bar for high-end anime-licensed games is set pretty high. Let’s hopeSoul Ignitioncan meet (or surpass) that standard.
