For me,BioShock 2has been one of those rare sequels where I thought it was simply unnecessary, but as time has gone by, I’ve become increasingly interested in playing it. Dare I say it — I’m actually anticipating its early February release.
Over on The Cult of Rapture,we are givenour first glimpse of theBioShock 2Special Edition. Before we get any further, let me start by saying that this game getting a Special Edition is news in and of itself. Alright, let’s continue, shall we?
The SE comes in a 13″x13″ premium packaging that looks rather neat. Neat enough to warrant a $99.99 price tag for console versions of the game ($89.99 for PC)? Hmm, what else is in this thing?
Three posters depicting vintage ads you’d find in Rapture, a vinyl 180g LP featuring the firstBioShock‘s orchestral score, a CD ofBioShock 2‘s orchestral score, a 164 page 8″x11″ hardbound art book, and a copy of the sequel. Wowza.
The art book alone sounds mighty tempting, doesn’t it? TheBioShock 2SE is getting a single production run, so you may want to start smashing open that piggy bank of yours for a pre-order right about now.
