While most of you know Koei for its repetitive button-mashers, only a few of you might be aware that the company also has a range of incredibly solid and interesting strategy games in its library. Franchises likeNobunaga’s Ambition,Dynasty Tactics,Romance of the Three KingdomsandKessenare all from Koei, andBladestorm: The Hundred Years Warlooks set to follow in the tradition of the latter with its emphasis on full-scale medieval war action.I always view a new IP from Koei with a keen eye and it seems thatBladestormwill certainly be better thanFatal Intertiawas. It’s very hard for Koei to muck up a tactical game, that much I know. I’m all forKessen-like gameplay and an epic story, so hopefully this England vs. France adventure lives up to my high expectations.
