According to a recent survey, 80% of people are willing to play games while wearing 3D glasses. This study contradicts previous polls which have always indicated an aversion to 3D glasses and a general indifference toward the technology in general.Â
Of those polled, 65% already owned an HDTV and 35% of them were planning to upgrade to a 3DTV. The survey was compiled by U-Decide, a company that specialized in surveying gamers to find out what they want. According to them, gamers want 3D.Â
I’ve tried out a 3D television and it’s pretty cute, but I still don’t know if I want to have glasses plastered to my face while everyone else in the room gets a headache from the blurry screen. To me, 3D is something to be reserved for movie theaters. I can only feel that it would get pretty boring pretty quickly if it’s in my house every day.
It’s going to be really interesting to see how this technology takes off in the field of games, but I’m still concerned at how childishly giddy some publishers are getting over it.
