Final Fantasy XIIIis almost upon its Japanese release date after six years, and Square “eyes bigger than its belly” Enix is alreadypondering the prospectof delicious downloadable content for its long-awaited RPG. If any DLCdoesarrive, there would be no story expansions, with producer Yoshinori Kitase stressing that anything added would be gameplay only.
“We are exploring the option of downloadable content, perhaps adding new areas, items or enemies, but these would not be expansions to the story, only the gameplay,” he explains. “The entire story ofFFXIIIwill be on the disc.”
That’s great. However, perhaps the team needs to finish work onFinal Fantasy XIII,Final Fantasy Versus XIIIand Final Fantasy Agito XIIIfirst before thinking about downloadable content. Just an idea.
