Sony has a duo of gaming headsets coming to market. The best one is the DR-GA500, which sports 7.1 channel digital surround sound (Dolby Pro Logic IIx), which they say is perfect for first-person shooters. There’s also a DR-GA200. It sports the same 40mm drivers and triple enfolding design, but doesn’t have all the fancy surround processing.
…a soundscape rich in precision spatial detail that pinpoints everything from a stealthy footstep to the position of an exploding grenade. This audio environment is perfect for first person shooter (FPS) games where what you can hear is often as important as what you can see.
The marketing blather continues with them saying that strategy and online multiplayer games will also benefit.
I don’t care about all of that. It’s more about how they sound. And look. I think they look quite nice. Both models include a compact boom microphone for all your sh*t talkin’.
So far there is nothing in the way of pricing or release dates, butengadgetsays that Sony will be bundling a free copy of the latestMedal of Honorgame with the phones come this October.
