According to aGameStop listing, United Front Games’ upcoming create-play-share racerModNation Racersfor PlayStation 3may also be making its way to the PlayStation Portable. Simply listed asModNation(and separate from theModNation Racerslistingfor PlayStation 3), the PSP title looks slated to ship no earlier than June of next year.
“Unfortunately, we can’t comment on rumors or speculation related toModNation Racers,” a Sony rep told us when we contacted them about the potential PSP racer.
It’s not surprising to find Sony’s franchises make their way from the consoles to handheld. Cases in point:God of War,Gran Turismo,Ratchet and Clank, and — most recently —LittleBigPlanet. After recentlyspending some time with the PS3 version ofModNation Racers, the idea of a portable version doesn’t sound like a bad idea. We’ll definitely be keeping our eyes on this to see what officially pops up.
