In shocking non-videogame related news, American music festival Lollapalooza still exists. The festival, conceived by Jane’s Addiction front-man Perry Farrell in the early-90s, was once a traveling circus of semi-relevant, eclectic mix of musicians. Years later, it crashed and burned when the tour organizers realized that Americans don’t like going outdoors or paying $40 to see one band they like perform for 35 minutes.
The latest incarnation of Lollapalooza is a three day festival that will take place in Chicago, starting on August 3. Bands performing include Pearl Jam, The Roots, Muse, Snow Patrol, Daft Punk, and more. If you like any of those bands and think this might be a good idea, keep in mind that only the festival’s headliner, Pearl Jam, will be performing for more than 40 minutes. A soft taco will also cost you $15 and will make your stool turn red (sorry about that visual, folks — I have history with Lollapalooza soft tacos).
