It’s a good time to be a Sonic fan. There’s both a solid looking2D Sonic game comingout and a3D oneas well. Of course, if you talk to a Sonic fan it’s all doom and gloom as there are just too many things wrong withSonic 4andSonic Colorsis going to fail. Who can blame them, though? you’re able to only be beaten down so much before you just give up and start to hate the world. If only we could curl up with the classic Sonic we know is good, except make it prettier.

As you may see from the video above, it’s classic Sonic levels, but with an HD look. Pelikan13 is the game’s developer and he’s been teasing us for months with little clips and screens, but now we get a full two minutes of Emerald Hill Zone: Act 1 and it looks delicious.
Now don’t get those hopes up, Sonic fans. Always remember that when something looks good and involves Sonic, Sega will find a way to mess it up.
