It’s been awhile since we heard any solid information on theSAWvideogame direct from publisher Brash Entertainment, but it seems like tomorrow’s release ofSAW V(yes, that’s a “five”) has brought it out of its shell.
Brash has revealed that the Unreal Engine 3.0-poweredSAWvideogame will hit Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in October of 2009, likely to coincide with the no-brainer arrival ofSAW VIin theaters. The game will have its own unique storyline, and will explore events that take place in between the first and second film in the series.
Brash says they’re working closely withSAW‘s creators, Leigh Whannell and James Wan, so if anything, the game is likely to deliver twists and scares, as well as a potential bloodbath. What they don’t mention is who will be developing the game, or any information on what kind of game we should be expecting. First-person? Third-person? Point-and-click adventure?
Who knows, but we’ll ping Brash and see what we can find out. In the meantime, do us a favor and don’t talk to strangers.
[Update: Brash tells us theSAWgame willbe a third-person, action/horror survival title. It’s being developed byZombie, along with Brash’s in-house producer David S. Cohen.]
