It’s been a bumpy road forBrutal Legend, what with all the legal mumbo jumbo surrounding the game. It started asActivision suingDouble Fine for allegedly “improperly” transferring the rights from Activision to Electronic Arts.

Then, last month,Double Fine fileda countersuit that stated Activision wanted “to kill [Brutal Legend] completely so thatGuitar Herowould not have to face the competition.” Needless to say, the whole situation spiraled out of control and was a real mess for all parties involved.

Good news for us consumers comesfrom IndustryGamerswho reports that theBrutal Legendlawsuit has been settled. Activision’s motion to block the game’s Rocktober 13 release date was pushed back to today, but according to the Associated Press, the hearing has been canceled.
