Hudson Entertainment has dated its gloomy Wii platformer,Lost in Shadow, for a January 4 release.

To mark this momentous occasion of putting a date on a game release, Hudson has decided to pull the wrapping off one of the game’s features, “Materialization.” While most of the game will be played as a young boy as a shadow, sometimes he’ll have to become a “creature of light.” He’ll receive multiple swords, like the “Watchman’s Sword,” which can cleave reality, creating a door between the light and the shadow. By doing so, the boy can manipulate physical objects, but only for a small period of time.

No idea what the hell I’m talking about? Hudson was nice enough to send along not only some new screens, but a trailer demonstrating this fancy “Materialization” technique. It’s gorgeous, so check it out.
