The Playtation 3 continues to be dragged over hot coals by those far more influential than myself. Not only has Alley Insider and a number of analysts ripped a pound of flesh from the Black Box o’ Blu-ray,The Wall Street Journalhas decided to take a piece of the action too.

According to the article, hope is fading for the PS3 as a “comeback player,” with a backfiring pricing strategy and refusal to cut any prices despite the recession making consumers more discerning than usual.

The Journal also picks up the “PS3 has no games” argument and shares it with a wider audience, perpetuating a stigma that is unlikely to go away for the remainder of this generation: “Sony used to have a stable of exclusive games. But in recent years, Microsoft has persuaded most game publishers to release highly anticipated games to it and Sony at the same time.”

Once again, some of the criticism is unfair, and some of of it is warranted, but all of it is being read by potential customers who are already scared of making a bad purchase. While Sony continues to dig its heels in and remains bull-headed and arrogant, its very dignity is being undermined.
