This is not something I expected to see today. A name I’ve not heard in years,Gungrave, has apparently been licensed to Convergence Entertainment in order to make alive action movie. Originally a PS2 game released in 2002,Gungravetook the form of a third-person shooter from the chaps at Sega.

Gungraveexisted as an anime series as well, running from 2002 to 2004. Things have been quiet inGungravecountry for the past five years, however, making for quite an odd bit of news indeed. Convergence is predicting that theGungravemovie will cost between $30 million and $35 million to make, although word on a possible launch is missing.

For reference, these guys are also behind the upcomingKing of Fightersmovie. I guess we’ll have to wait and see that one for an indication ofGungrave‘s quality.
