Over the past few days, it seems like Sierra Entertainment and Activision have been having a bit of a problem with thePrototypeWeb site. After passing (quite easily) through the age gate, users were treated to somePrototypeassets destined for CES next month, not the trendy countdown they’ve since changed it to.

The clip above (and four after the jump) are all really short, but they do feature tiny little snippets of the game. If you’re still interested, that is. After it wasannounced in August of last year, it kind of fell off the radar. Nothing like a strategic “leak” to inflate some interest before a huge tradeshow that’s coming up in three weeks, apparently.

WhenPrototypewas announced, I have to say I was pretty skeptical. The premise — you play as a amnesiac shape-shifter trying to uncover his past as the government tries to kill you — is simultaneously dubious and generic, and the gameplay seemed equally run of the mill.

Hamza assures me that this new footage is looking “100 times better” than what he saw during hispreview, and I have to admit that I’m a little more intrigued than I was before.

Anyway, verify to check out more footage after the jump, and some really nice screenshots in the gallery. You can also check out somedevelopervideosfor more information.Prototypeis scheduled for August 09.
