Deus Ex: Human Revolutionis one of my most anticipated games of the year. This video helps to show why. It’s a walkthrough for an early objective in the game narrated by designer Mary DeMarle that shows three different methods to achieve a successful conclusion. There is a direct assault, followed by a little stealth and then a touch of exploration.
What it doesn’t show are the other two “pillars of gameplay” mentioned: “Hacking” and “Social.” It’s that last one that really piques my interest. I love blowing things up but there are few things I enjoy more than finding more elegant solutions. August feels so far away.
