Max Payne shoots slow bullets in possibly leaked trailer

Chubby Max Payne may have forgotten how to use a washer and apparently the value of a cardiovascular exercise, but he hasn’t forgotten how to shoot things in slow motion. At least, that’s what thisMax Payne 3teaser trailer tells me. We’re not entirely sure if this is an official trailer or not. In addition to that, it appears to beancientby Internet standards. Following the logo at the conclusion of the trailer, the words “Coming Winter 2009” pop into focus from the inky blackness....

Medal of Honor beta for Xbox 360 pushed back

Medal of Honor‘s single-player component looks exhilarating and all — no, really, I genuinely mean that — but I’m much more interested in hearing (and seeing) more on theDICE-developed multiplayer. Yes, most of this longing for fresh details stems from me being a fan of the studio’s work. It also has to do with us not receiving any information on the multiplayer until, uh, just this week? Yeah, we knew only the basics until E3 showed us the light....

Mega 64 does Dead Rising

There are two things on the Internet that I will whore out until the day I die. The first thing I will always whore myself out to will beDestructoid(and everything that’s apart of the N33T network).Nieroactually owns my soul and gaming consoles so I kinda have no choice. The second thing I will always whore myself out too isMega64. I love and envy everything these geniuses do. Their latest skit takes place in theDead Risinguniverse....

Monday Mind Teasers: Redux

You know how it works! With the help of each other, attempt to figure out all of the disguised game covers. They all share a common theme that, once solved, can help you figure out the harder ones. This week I was about thirty minutes into making the teasers when I realized “game titles based on CBS TV show names” wasn’t crazy enough of a topic, because I’ve already friggin used it....

Monthly Musing: Changes

It’s a new month, a new Musing, and a new lame attempt by me to somehow make this month’s Musing topic thematically fit in with October. Technically, Autumn began back towards the end of September. Living in Los Angeles though, you wouldn’t have known, since it was a million degrees this last weekend. Now that it’s October 1st, it seems to have finally cooled down, and the seasons appear to have actually changed....

More Marvel vs. Capcom 3 screens, pre-order decals

Capcom has released a new batch ofMarvel vs. Capcom 3screens and, surprise, they look completely off-the-wall and awesome. The focus here is on the most recently revealed characters (well, officially), Storm and C. Viper; some of the screens are so hectic, you can barely make ’em out. Just the way I you “VS” fans like it, eh? I’d also like to bring to your attentionGameStop’sMarvel vs. Capcom 3pre-order items: console skins....

Need for Speed: NITRO hits Wii and DS this November

Can you feel it yet? Can you feel the pile of videogame releases being crammed into the September through November time slot? It’s time to start saving up, or you could always do what I do: pick and choose what looks and sounds the best, even if it means potentially missing out on something special. One such passable game, for me, will probably beNeed for Speed: NITRO. EA took the series in a whole number ofdifferent directions, this being one of them....

New Edge of Twilight screens still keep us in the dark

It’s been quite a while since there was fresh Intel on that game I’ve championed for over a year,Edge of Twilight, but Fuzzyeyes has sent us over some fresh screenshots to brighten up this Friday morning. They’re a collection of environment screens that show off the stylish steampunk vibe thatEdge of Twilightis going for. A few snazzy bits of artwork have been thrown in as well. There is still no word over what’s happening with this game, release-wise....

New Japanese Nintendo Wii ad will bore millions into buying Sony

This is the new Japanese TV ad for the Nintendo Wii. Boring, huh? Translated to English, the announcer is saying, “This… what is it? It’s a new remote control. Nintendo Wii remote control.†which to me would sound like an ad for a new remote for a sex toy, if I didn’t already know what a Nintendo Wii was. I guess I just think dirty.Honestly though, where are the bouncy Asian girls playing with the Wii remote?...

New Street Fighter IV trailer highlights full roster, is totally bananas

Capcom has released a newStreet Fighter IVtrailer that clocks in at over five minutes, and after watching it, I’m left catching my breath. The trailer highlights all of the console version’s 25 fighters, from Ryu through the “Puppet Master,” Seth. We also get a pretty nice look at the game’s anime cut-scenes (along with their crazy and over-the-top dialogue) that were designed specifically for the home releases. To say I’m hyped about this game is an understatement....

Nier getting DLC (probably won’t be worth it)

Square Enix action extravaganzaNieris getting downloadable content, and you’ll be expected to pay. At least, if you’re rocking the Eastern variants. So far, the new DLC has only been confirmed for the Japanese versionsNier GestaltandNier Replicant, but since the Western version (just calledNier) has a DLC option in the menu, we can safely assume we’ll be getting it too. All that has been revealed about the DLC thus far is that it will include a special arena featuring an endless battle option and new items that can be used during the full course of the game....
