We don’t have much longer to wait until Codemasters’ epic RPGRise of the Argonautsis finally released, and I’d venture to say they know we’re excited about it. I know I am — between the sight of some of the massive bosses I’ll be pitted up against and Codemasters’ talk of pushing RPGs to a new level, well, let’s just say they know what to say to get my attention. We have more than just pretty new pictures to get us fired up, however....

It’s easy to overlook Sega these days, but some interesting stuff is coming out of its doors lately, with such crazy action titles asBayonettaand this, the bloodsoaked black-and-white brawler that isMadWorld. From the boldly colorless graphics to the gorgeously excessive violence, this is definitely a brave choice for a Wii title — so brave in fact that certain morons in the UK already want it banned. Controversy aside, I’m loving the style of this thing and can’t wait to give it a go myself....

Next week, during San Diego Comic-Con, at Capcom’s Marvel vs Capcom panel we are told to expect “fantastic news” straight from producer Ryota Niitsuma. The event also promises a behind-the-scenes peek as well as a change to fight on stage for “fantastic prizes.” Man, this panel should be Fantastic. Nintendo by Torrel is an attempt to get gamer clothing to the urban market. The line of clothingwent on sale todayand are all limited editions (only 1,000 of each shirt and jacket are being made). The clothing starts at $50 and goes all the way up to $200. I like the concept and some of the designs are great, but the pricing is just too much. I can understand the high pricing (since Nintendo is taking a portion of the profits) but your typical target audience for this specific style of clothing usually doesn’t have that kind of cash to put into clothes....

Music4Gameshas information on the upcoming soundtrack and single releases for the Nintendo DS remake ofFinal Fantasy IV. The two-disc set, featuring arrangements of Nobuo Uematsu’s amazing original Super Nintendo score byJunya Nakano and Kenichiro Fukui, will go on sale in Japan onJanuary 30th, 2008. This set will also include a promotional DVD. For now, there’s the CD single for the game’s love theme,“Tsukino Akari –Final Fantasy IVTheme of Love,” peformed byMegumi Ida....

When I think about the Wild West in terms of gaming, I think ofRed Dead, and that oneTimeSplitters 2map with the tiny ledge that you could sit on to hide from the burning monkeys. Paradox Interactive, who just announced its role as publisher of Fatshark’sLead and Gold, would probably rather I think of their game. The team-based shooter continues toremind us allofTeam Fortress 2, which is a plus, I guess. While the intended platforms are still not being talked about per se (right now it’s simply “consoles”), it’ll likely be an Xbox LIVE Arcade/PlayStation Network type of thing....

Where are they making the franchise reboot to end all franchise reboots? Montreal, Canada. That’s where I was last week. Nice town. Good food, pretty girls, and this insane underground network of shopping malls that has to be seen to be believed. I was there to check outDeus Ex: Human Revolution, and while I was there I thought I’d have a peek around the office. This office, which features “membre du groupe Square Enix” on the main entryway wall, has about 330 employees working in it over two floors....

Sure, I would have liked it if Atlus had announcedPersona 5, but we know that’s coming. I’m such a Persona addict that any excuse to replay one of the games in the series is a good enough excuse for me, andthe announcement ofPersona 3for PSPworks just fine for that purpose. A whole slew of new pictures and video turned up on Famitsu recently, and I thought you fellow Persona addicts might like a look at them....

After making a splash at E3, what was once a fairly unknown indie iOS title attracted a ton of attention from press and gamers alike. Nominated for several handheld awards,Contre Jouris steadily approaching release. Once I got the chance to play it at EA’s Summer Games Showcase, I can honestly say that there is something quite special about this little indie game. AnotherDC Universe Online“iconic” has been revealed. Earlier today Sony Online Entertainment dropped quite a few renders of everyone’s favorite red-clad fast dude, The Flash. Take a look. While we weren’t given any specifics, our guess is that The Flash will serve an auxiliary role in the MMO — just like Superman. He’ll be around, fighting baddies and probably helping you out from time to time as you roll, fly, limp, or run across Metropolis....

New screenshots from D3Publisher reminded me this morning thatWhite Knight Chronicles IIis coming to the PS3 this September. I totally forgot! These new screens look pretty nice. They show off some battle scenes, enemies and even some stills from what look to be cutscenes. The overall look is a lot like the first game, but that’s not a bad thing as the first title was a pretty nice looking game....

As our own Mr. Destructoid has said countless times before, “BEST. SYSTEM. EVAR!!” Tonight we take a look back at one of the most solid gaming platforms ever known to mankind. Sure, it had a few stinkers in its library, but for the most part it was an outstanding console, and remains so to this day. The games were classic, the region locking was a cinch to get around, and the Japanese Super Famicom controller is still the only one in existence that I’ve got nothing bad to say about....
