Sega teases Project Ringo with the help of apples and equations

The above image may look strange and confusing to you, but don’t worry. The spinning apple and mass of equations are all part of a brand new and mysterious Sega game, Project Ringo. Sega has been loving its teasers lately, and as with all the others, this one tells us very little. Over atthe teaser site, we have something just a tad bit more revealing, showing the silhouette of something which may or may not be a cute new mascot....

Someone ripped off Mega Man’s arm and teased me with it

When I first started here at Dtoid, I’d flip out over every littleMega Man-related tease. I’d see aMega Man-themed countdown clock or hear that there was going to be some big “Mega Man-nouncement”, and I’d throw together a post filled with theories as to what it could be. Then I’d wait with bated breath until the announcement went down, only to see that it was all build up for the release of some newMega Manflavored cola or shoe shine polish....

Splatterhouse lives up to its name in these screenshots

For a while there, I was under the impressionSplatterhousewouldn’t make it out of development hell; it’s nice to see that’s not the case. Since the last time I gave the game a serious look, it seems the team at Namco Bandai has updated the art style for the better. Exaggerated outlines? Yes please! The original set ofSplatterhousegames was pretty violent for the time, so this is going to sound weird, but jeez, look at all of this blood....

Suck down this Dark Void concept art

It may have an unreasonably generic name, but Capcom’sDark Voidis looking as hot as baked beans and I am very much looking forward to it. It’s been very quiet on theDark Voidfront, but a few pieces of artwork have been released that show a variety of “survivalists.” The survivalists are humans in a parallel world who are fighting against a group of aliens called the Watchers. These humans have reconfigured Watcher technology which they now use against their former enslavers....

Team Fortress 2 impressions

When I was young, I had dreams of becoming a doctor, fostered as dreams tend to be by the games I played. Had I taken that long and expensive road through med school, I would have invariably been asked what prompted my pursuit of medicine. It’s simple, I’d reply:Team Fortresstaught me that healing folks is not only useful, it’s also damn fun. Unlike that game, though, I’d imagine that the most efficient way of mending your war buddies isn’t hacking them into little bits with an axe emblazoned with a red cross, but hey — it’s not the first time my world view has been warped by the compartmentalized reality of a video game, and it’s not likely to be the last....

Teh Bias: A Rare Overcoming of Bias

[For his Monthly Musing, mgspada tells us about the bias he had for Rare games, and how they finally lost his support. — JRo] I wouldn’t typically consider myself a biased person. For the last three console generations, I’ve owned every console there is because I love video games. I can point out the positives and negatives in any console, past or present. I will defend when necessary, and strike when necessary....
