If you know me, you know that right now my favorite game to play isMarvel vs. Capcom 3. So when I had the opportunity to interview producer Ryota Niitsuma on the newly announcedUltimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3, I jumped at that chance. I was unaware until I got there that I’d also be asking questions to Hidetoshi Ishizawa (Neo_G), the battle designer of many of my favorite fighting games. In this interview, I asked them to talk briefly about the new characters and what their thoughts were on the level of play exhibited at EVO....

Magic the Gathering fans rejoice! A newexpansionforDuels of the Planeswalkers 2012is incoming. Sure, we expected it would happen, but we have some pretty screenshots to prove it now. You’ll be able to play the newArchenemygame type that Wizards of the Coast released back in the spring. It lets one player take on multiple opponents with an additional 20 overpowered cards in his deck. There will be an 11-level single-player campaign for the Archenemy mode....

If there’s one thing the games industry needs, it’s more collector’s editions, and far be it fromFable IIIto leave us wanting. Lionhead has today revealed the contents and pricing for its collector’s edition, as well as confirmation of a PC release. The collector’s edition costs $79.99 and will run alongside an obligatory standard edition. The PC version costs $49.99 and will be available as a retail disc or as a Windows LIVE download, because Microsoft is still persisting with that turgid bollocks....

Final Fantasy Fables: Chocobo’s Dungeonis a mouthful. Luckily, it is also an upcoming RPG for the Wii. Today, developer Square Enix gifted the gaming world with 15 new and exciting screens of this loveable little title. Also included in the gallery are all of the previous releases that we missed. For those not in the know,Chocobo’s Dungeonis about a kid named Cid, who really enjoys chilling with chocobos, who finds himself in a bit of a pickle when all of the denizens of his town lose their memories....

There are two types of people in this world. Those who happily playDwarf Fortress, and those who want to play it but can’t because there are a number of scary-looking barriers to entry. For those of us who fall into the sissy camp, now we too can fully appreciate the greatness ofDwarf Fortresswith the aid of an illustrated story that retells the events one player witnessed first-hand while playing. Yup, that’s baseball, all right. This afternoon, 2K Sports sent us a whole two — count ’em, two — screenshots of their upcoming baseball title,Major League Baseball 2K9. Both images featurecoverboy Tim Lincecumin the middle of his freaky windup, getting ready to unleash a fireball on a hitter who’s likely cowering in the batter’s box at San Francisco’s AT&T Park. MLB 2K9is set for release in the first week of March, and it will be the only baseball videogame available on non-Sony platforms (it’ll be out for the PS3, 360, Wii, PS2, and PSP)....

We’ve got a very special edition of Friday Night Fights planned for y’all. I’m a huge Xenomorph fan, so it stands to reason that I loveAliensgames. However, it’s not just my love of all things acid-drenched that makesAliensgames so fun to play. That would be a disservice to the games themselves, which have the highest great-to-rubbish ratio of perhaps any other series of licensed games. Unlike most other licensed games, which nearly always coincide with a major movie release and then disappear, theAliensgames has lasted for years, with titles becoming part of the franchise in their own right, as opposed to a mere reflection of it....
