Believe it or not, work continues on Wii Vitality Sensor

When I didn’t hear anything about the Wii Vitality Sensor this year at E3, I guessed that Nintendo was hoping we’d just kind of forget about it. Maybe they still are. But someone asked, so they had to talk. Nintendo’s Cammie Dunaway toldGame Set Watchthat Nintendo is “continuing to work on the Vitality Sensor.” They would have talked about it (yeah, right), but they had too much other stuff to show off, they say....

Beyonce and Nintendo get Style Savvy

All the single ladies, all the single ladies… Beyoncé may not speak to you as a gamer, but I’m guessing that Nintendo thinks she’ll speak to someone out there as they have roped her into promoting their upcoming style-based DS/DSi game. The singer had some practice promoting games back whenRhythm Heavencame out, and now she’s back to push this virtual clothing boutique namedStyle Savvy. A couple of commercials featuring the star are in the works now, so look for those soon....

Big Sister looks weird when upright: BioShock 2 toys arrive

A while ago we heard that Neca was making a bunch ofBioShocktoys, since no good videogame franchise is complete without some plastic nonsense to sit upon your dusty shelves. The first set will be revealed at Comic-Con, but in the meantime, have some fun pictures for your approval. These are early models, but they should turn out pretty nicely when finished. Neca does good work, and I’m really looking forward to seeing what else they produce....

Blizzard shows off StarCraft II beta system requirements

We’ve seen quite a few system requirements forStarCraft II, many of which ended up being nothing more than baseless rumors, but these … if these aren’t legit, I’m done. Blizzard support for Europe has the system specslisted in fullas if it’s no big deal. It’sStarCraft, so of course it’s a big deal. Minimum Requirements: Recommended Requirements: It’s worth noting this is specifically what you’ll need to run the beta. I wouldn’t be surprised if the full retail version ofStarCraft IIhas slightly tweaked requirements....

Can it be June yet? New Child of Eden trailer impresses

When was the last time a trailer made you smile? I’m going to go with “a few moments ago.” That’s when I watched this video forChild of Eden, which has been appropriately dubbed the “Mood” trailer. We recently — as in, last night —got wind thatthe PlayStation 3 version of the game is now looking at a September launch, with the Xbox 360 release still on for mid-June. I guess if the latter doesn’t suit your interests, you could always just watch this video repeatedly....

CES: Yep, Torchlight on a console

I didn’t know much about Runic Games’Torchlightat first, but then I saw how many Destructoid readers hold it in high regard, so I recently checked it out. And I like it. I’m not really aDiablotype guy, but I do like a good dungeon crawl. I could easily see why people were getting down with this. I could also see why a console version would be a good idea. It blew up on the PC scene, but now it’ll get some console love and a whole new audience....

Check out Nintendo DS shooter C.O.R.E.’s multiplayer modes

While it’s not the likeliest place for a first-person shooter to turn up, the Nintendo DS has seen its fair share. Games like Renegade Kid’sDementiumandMoon, evenMetroid Prime: Huntershave all had a decent showing on the dual-screen handheld. Now there’s another one on the way, and it’s calledC.O.R.E., which is being billed as a classic first person shooter experience. Honestly, the whole things a tad bit generic sounding, with the story having something to do with a top-secret science project taking place in an underground facility....

Check out this awesome Borderlands case mod

You typically see case mods done on PCs instead of consoles, but every now and then someone decides their 360 needs some spicing up. Over onthe official Gearbox forums, user ‘The Gh0st’ (no relation) showed off her awesome creation. The four playable characters ofBorderlandson one side, a Psycho on the other, and the name of the game spelled across the faceplate. In addition, she made part of it see-through and added a whole bunch of LEDs....

OneBigGame has announced that its musical puzzlerChimewill hit Xbox LIVE Arcade on February 3. Chime‘s gameplay has a Lumines-like feel, with players placing blocks on a grid to create quads. GameTrailers got some exclusive videos from the upcomingWanted: Weapons of Fatevideogame. Above you can watch the trailer covering the basic storyline and witness Bullet Curving, the stupidest gimmick to hit an action flick yet.The game is looking mighty nice visually and I like how they’ve implemented the Bullet Curving mechanic. I just hope that the game doesn’t go into dramatic slow-mo everytime Bullet Curving is used.Hit the jump to check out a couple of gameplay videos fromWanted: Weapons of Fate....

Destructoid Review: Strong Bad Episode 5

Five months and five episode later,Strong Bad’s Cool Game for Attractive People Season Onehas come to a close. Anthony Burch and myself have teamed up to review every episode released thus far, and though I’d be lying if I said that our mutual enthusiasm for the series is as strong as ever, I can tell you that… we’re glad this is over. For me,Episode 4was by far the low point in the series, and though Anthony liked it a bit more than I did, I get the sense that we both were heading intoEpisode 5with low expectations....

Destructoid review: Teenage Zombies: Invasion of the Alien Brain Thingys!

There may be a lot of invigorating experiences in life, but we can only imagine what life would be like shambling around eating brains for substance and never being responsible for any boring tea party conversations beyond “guhhhhh.” I think I might kind of like it, but I’ve never been a model of poise and good behavior anyway. InTeenage Zombies: Invasion of the Alien Brain Thingys!, living life as a young zombie (or three) is as easy as powering your DS on — you’ll be tearing brains out through enemies’ ears in no time....
