If there was any question that piracy is serious problem for game publishers and developers, then this list is the answer. According to these numbers, people pirated a crap-load of PC, Xbox 360, and Wii games this year, and these are just the numbers from Bit Torrent. We can only guess how many more games were pirated from other sources. These numbers really bum me out. It’s one thing when games likeSuper Mario Galaxy,Halo: Reach, andWii Partyget pirated, as they all have a huge amount of mainstream fans that don’t pirate videogames (assuming that they even know how to)....

There’s a new map pack on the way soon, and it’s called “The Rock.” The pack will feature four maps, including a tight-combat environment set in the famous Alcatraz prison. Other maps will see players battling out on the Golden Gate Bridge, a battle in the Spillway, and one that let’s players battle it out in the “Overpass” Ground Control map for the first time in team deathmatch....

The Korean MMOGRockman Onlineis something that I personally have been trying to keep an eye on. Tonight, a ton of stuff has come out about the game. Just when you thought your days of enjoying malt liquor in T-rated videogames would never end, along comes Illinois tocrush your alcoholic fun. Yes, despite there never really being many instances of this, Illinois has decided to ban any and all references to malt liquor in videogames “marketed to children.” This willdefinitelymake America a better place somehow. Today, Interplay announced that funding forthe Fallout MMO‘Project: V13’ has been secured thanks to a partnership with Masthead Studios. ‘Project V13’ sounds catchy, but its only a code name for an MMO that the company has had in development since 2007. Rumor has it that ‘Project V13’ is aFalloutMMO. When Interplay soldFalloutto Bethesda, they kept the rights to create an MMO based on the property. Our tipster, community memberdyslixec, points out that the ‘V13’ part of the name could refer to the infamous Vault 13 – the place where the journey begins — in the originalFallout....

For my last scheduled interview at Evo2k11, I spoke briefly with the associate producer ofStreet Fighter III: 3rd Strike Online Edition, Derek Neal. We discussed the lengths that Capcom went to in order to ensure that the game appeases its fans, the new online features such as YouTube uploading and GGPO, and finally theirplanned DLC. He also confirmed at the end of the interview that Capcom is not done making HD remix-style games, and he encouraged fans to give feedback on what titles they want to see....

A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of sitting down withGears of War 3Executive Producer, Rod Fergusson. It was also the closest I’ll probably ever get to feeling like I’m a host of a Late Night show with our interview set-up. We chatted aboutGear’scampaign, the development of Marcus’s character and why Microsoft didn’t put a gun to their head to add Kinect. Off camera Rod also informed me that no matter how much I sucked atGear’sonline competitive scene, since I played the first two games, I can’t enter the casual mode....

My interview with Kei Hirono; producer for Namco Bandai games, was one of my most anticipated at Level Up in Dubai as I am madly in love with the masochisticDemon Souls, which finally saw a European release in 2010. Kei Hirono gave us some insight into the story and RPG elements ofDark Souls,explaining how the even more difficult gameplay is comparable to edible but spicy food.
