Ninja Theory: Old Dante isn’t cool anymore

Theannouncement ofDmCwas completely overshadowed by the revelation that Dante had been given a complete makeover, complete with darker hair, darker clothes, and a twink face. Many people called the look “emo” because they don’t know what that word means, whilesome of us quite liked it. Now Ninja Theory has responded. “The essence ofDevil May Cryis all about ‘cool,'” says creative director Tameem Antoniades. “It’s about Dante being cool and making you feel cool when you’re playing it, and so the combat and the style system and everything is integral to that....

NIS America announces Phantom Brave PSP

NIS America has a new title coming out, and I’m guessing it’s one you’ll recognize:Phantom Brave. It was first on the PS2, and then came to the Wii. This is now a PSP game, a port of the Wii version. I really enjoyed this RPG on the Wii last year. This little strategy RPG wasn’t anything groundbreaking, but it was fun and kind of silly. It will now be calledPhantom Brave: The Hermuda Trianglefor this portable release, and it’s coming as both a UMD release and a PlayStation Network download in March of next year, complete with new story bits, characters, and even some cameos....

Nobi Nobi Boy is Noby Noby Boy, still one of mother nature’s cruelest mistakes

I’ve been calling himNobi Nobi Boythis whole time, but apparently in the West we’re to call himNoby Noby Boy. Whatever moniker he chooses to use, it doesn’t alter the fact that he’s a scary, vile, nasty freak sausage creature that should have been disinfected andburnedthe moment he was cut from his mother’s womb. I’ve beenvoicing disapprovalof this abomination’s existence for a while, but it seems that he’ll be coming to the PlayStation 3 regardless, and I’ll probably end up playing it....

Podtoid 111: Double Dragontoid

God, I’m sorry. I’m really, reallysorry. Not just that this week’s episode is a day later than it should be, but that the episode you waited an extra twenty-four hours for isso friggin’ bad. I mean, it’s moderately enjoyable at moments, don’t get me wrong, but…Jesus. Double Dragon, as a film, is such a weird, awful, poorly-structured catastrophe that it often defies mockery. The film includes a character, for instance, whose neck appears to be made of two giant, sweaty testicles....
