And we thought theBorderlandsESRB rating was f’ing metal. Turbine announced the public launch ofDungeons & Dragons Onlne: Eberron Unlimitedin style this morning with the above video. Destructoid Discusses: Is death in gaming dead?

I kinda have death on the brain right now, which led me to pose this week’s question to the Dtoid staff. And I learned a valuable lesson: Citing an example in the topic is a good way to derail a conversation to discussing said example for a long time. Still, it made for some good chatter. This week’s guest is the incomparable Mxyzptlk, who I continue to curse for having to choose the most difficult to spell name in the DC Universe for his handle....

Destructoid review: newtonica2 (iPhone)

I’ll be honest and say that I never played the originalnewtonica. It wasn’t until I heard that this was “big in Japan” or something similar (and what isn’t?) that I became interested. Some review code and a bunch of screen flicking later, we have a review for you. My first impression:what the hell is this? There’s a duck with a space helmet on. Or is that a chick? And balls with googly eyes....

Did Sony finally drop the axe on Sigil?

Rumors surfaced onNeoGAFback in April about the possibility ofSigilGames being purchased by Sony. The general word onVanguardwas not so hot at the time. Not quite a shock then, to find thisblurbon F13.net today: But I do know that at approximately 4:30PM today, Sigil employees were told to meet outside....

Dragon Quest IX’s co-op will be local wireless, not WiFi

A few days ago, I posteda seven-minute trailerfor Square Enix’s upcoming hand-held phenom,Dragon Quest IX: Protectors of the Starry Sky. In the article, I mentioned that I had some questions about how the multiplayer co-op would be handled: WiFi or local? How are team-mates going to communicate? How easy is it going to be drop in and out of a game? Well, for better or worse, Square Enix PR has cleared up one of those questions....

DSiWare on 3DS can’t be played off the SD card

Much like how games from the Wii Shop originally worked, games downloaded from the DSi Shop can’t be run off an SD card. While a quick and dirty workaround addressed this for the Wii, DSi software remains chained to the onboard memory. It would appear that while new digital software made available for the 3DS (such as 3DSWare and Virtual Console games) will be able to play directly off an SD card, DSiWare that you buy new on or transfer over to the 3DS still requires fridge storage....

E3 08: Nintendo Announces WiiMusic

To cap off a looming wave of mediocre game announcements, Nintendo concluded theirpress conferencethis morning with another Wii title that was, well, mediocre. Introduced in a disorienting array of strobe lights and smoke, Nintendo announced their upcoming gameWiiMusicwith a drummer using both the Wiimote, the nunchuk, as well as theWiiFitbalance board to play a full drum set on stage. This less than mellifluous act was thankfully followed by a playful Shigeru Miyamoto, who tooted away at his Wiimote across the stage while his Mii emulated his actions on a saxophone....
