It’s tough to remember that, before 1985, I had been playing my Atari 2600 into the ground day and night. That I was already pumping quarter after quarter into any stand-up arcade game I came across....
Reprints rock. Especially reprints of Atlus and NIS games that you missed out on during the initial run and are now selling for well above the MSRP. Wetold you aboutShin Megami Tensei: Nocturnegetting the reprint treatment a few months ago, and now bring word of another title in theSMTline that is as well. The NIS camp is also reprinting one of its harder to find games,AR Tonelico: Melody of Elemia. They also have a reprint ofDisgaea: Hour of Darknessavailable, but that’s not quite as exciting due to there already being several versions available and another onecoming to the DS....
We really need a larger character limit for our headlines because games like this really limit my ability to sneak sexual threats in there. Ialready previewed a good portionofBrothers in Arms: Hell’s Highwaylast month,so I skipped the latest build of the game during Ubidays. I did take a glance at what was going on at least and the only difference was that this preview was for a level towards the end of the game. What can I say? It looks exactly like it did last time.Don’t get me wrong, I’m really looking forward to the game....
TheUFCseries took a little break from the annual release cycle and all that extra time was spent creating a more robust sequel.Undisputed 3introduces a ton of new content, including the new Pride mode where the Japanese MMA fighting style allows for brutal attacks like kicks straight to the head. Other additions toUFC 3include a new submission system, fighter entrances, new camera positions, and a revamped online experience. You can also expect a simplified control scheme on top of the traditional controls that allow newcomers to get a better grasp of the game....
The WTF rooted in this sad little tale has nothing to do with video games themselves, but that’s ok — the passing association with them is reason enough to tell the story. After all, the internet spends all day threatening to share the AIDS virus with one another, but it doesn’t quite sound the same as a real life threat. What are you going to do, wipe your crotch on me?...
Word was let outearlier this weekthat Visceral Games was working on a new entry in theCommand & Conquerseries, but publisher Electronic Arts has since claimed that this is not the case. According to EA, a newCommand & Conqueris indeed in the works, but it’s being handled by an LA-based team that answers to Nick Earl at Redwood Shores. It’s not yet known if EA’s own LA studio (the guys responsible forC&C 4) is working on the new one, or if there’s a brand new team on the case....
There’s a warning for the Nintendo 3DS that cautions that children under the age of six may be affected by the system’s 3D display. On a Japanese information page at Nintendo, they recommend that children six and under not use the 3DS’ 3D effects in theirgeneral safety warnings. Nintendo says that kids’ vision is still in the developmental stage, and viewing 3D content of any kind could impact their eyesight....
BioShock Infinitewas a powerful forceat this year’s E3. Which is cool and all for everyone who attended the convention, but what about the gaming community at large? Your time has come: the first two minutes of the E3 demonstration have gone public. Those allergic to cliffhangers will want to stay far away. The full presentation — set at approximately fifteen minutes in length by Irrational Games — will be shown on Spike TV....

Next-genpoints to data from eMarketer, which shows us the 2007 monthly and total lifetime sales of next generation consoles in the US. Don’t get me wrong, I like my NPD data, but seeing things laid out like this is pretty handy....
Mediatonic’s excellent shoot-’em-upWho’s That Flying!?is leaving its once-exclusive PlayStation Network abode for a slick newSteam condo. This new version goes live on Monday, January 31, and contains pretty much everything you would want from the prior release. There isn’t much to say that wasn’t already covered inMaurice’s reviewofWTF. These guys and gals have been putting out good-to-great games on PSN and the Xbox LIVE Indie channel, so it’s nice to see them show PC gamers some love too....
