Team ICO’sThe Last Guardianwas announced atlast year’s E3, but it was oddly missing from this year’s Sony presentation. However, everyone waiting for news about the game shouldn’t fear: Sony has hinted that the game is going to be seen later this year, and likely could be making an appearance at Tokyo Game Show. In fact, Sony’s Ron Eagle said that there were “more events on the calendar than just E3” this year....
TheMicrosoft press conferencestarted things off with a brand new trailer forCall of Duty: Black Ops. It’s actually anextended trailerof the first trailer so most of it is old, but new bits are sprinkled in here and there. Also, Eminem is singing in it. That’s cool I guess. Call of Duty: Black Opswill be out on July 17, 2025.

Despite a beaten down economy, computer and console games aren’t going anywhere. Or, at least that’s whatthe Entertainment Software Association (ESA) says. Forty-two percent of American adults plan to give or are looking to get some kind of videogame this holiday season, according to a new report that the ESA just released. On top of that, according to the poll results,52 percent of respondents believe that with the current economy, games are a good pick this season....
Following the 3DS’ less than adequate performance and Nintendo’s subsequent profit forecast slash, former Nintendo president Hiroshi Yamauchi could stand to lose over $300 million. Ouch! As of March 31, Yamauchi owned 10% of the company, equal to 14.17 million shares. According toBloomberg, the value of those shares plummeted 24.2 billion yen ($312 million) after Nintendo’s financial results. The “flop” of the 3DS is being blamed for Nintendo’s current situation....

Having just beat “The Secret Armory of General Knoxx” last night, I can safely say the third time was definitely the charm as far as add-ons forBorderlandsgo. The difficulty has been ramped up considerably this time, so any of you loners in the audience might want to think twice about traveling alone. As you likely know, Jim usually does this. But he’s wiped from E3. Everyone is, actually. No one’s in a mood or anything, and we feel pretty good about our coverage, but today is definitely a down day. We need a down day, company wide. I didn’t do sh*t today. I ate a huge brunch, took some pictures, pulled weeds out of my flowerbeds, watched television and played some Wii. No writing or work or anything....
