Hidden Path Entertainment is bringing their highly addictive tower defense game to Xbox LIVE Arcade in two weeks.Defense Grid: The Awakeningis going to go for 800 MS Points on September 2, and the port will see some additional content such as four new levels and 12 challenge modes. Wereviewed the PCversion ofDefense Gridwhen it came out and liked the game a lot. The $20 price point was a little hard to swallow but if the controls transition well to the XBLA port, than I thinkDefense Gridcould definitely be worth the purchase....

Revolution Software co-founder Charles Cecil has addressed the ever-thorny issue of videogame piracy, and he has not sided with the “pity me” publishers. Instead, the British developer has explained that piracy is “nature’s way” of dealing with high prices and inconvenient distribution. “Personally, I think that the level of piracy we have is nature’s way of turning around and saying games are too expensive and the way that they are distributed is not ideal,” claims Cecil....

Okay, maybe this whole avatar thing is a little cooler than I personally expected — after all, my Mii looks nothing like me, and at least my 360 avatar kind of does. I did expect that the avatars would be an excuse for Microsoft to create a massive virtual wardrobe and charge gamers through the ass for it, so seeing that the first new additions are free was certainly a breath of fresh air....

Responding to significant fan demand, Tecmo Koeihas announcedthatDynasty Warriors 7will be receiving a Japanese voice track option as a free downloadable content update. In addition, a range of extra costumes will be provided at no extra cost. The publisher confirmed that paid DLC — consisting of new stages and weapons — is on the way, with prices yet to be determined. Warriorsfans typically have a hard-on for the Japanese voices, though I don’t get it myself....

Oh yes,Dungeon Hero— the game wheregoblins take leaks. Back at Gamecock’s EIEIO event in Austin a few months ago, we got afirst lookat the Firefly Studios hack-and-slash title in action. The title’s heavy focus on a more realistic dungeon-crawling experience definitely made it stand out — weapons had weight, the game’s hero was sufficiently bad-assed but not over the top, and goblins did their daily business Today, I had a chance to sit down with the game’s London-based developer Firefly Studio to see how all of that goblin peeing is shaping up....

Huh. This is somewhat a weird one that makes sense, sure. Microsoft has had all sorts of interesting news with the Kinect/brand new Xbox 360, but there’s another extra little incentive to get the shiny black console. The Kinect, as a somewhat powerful device itself, sips away at energy. It sucks up enough juice, in fact, that users of older Xbox 360s are going to have to use a separate power adapter to make this special camera work....

Looks like Blitz Arcade’s long-in-production Xbox LIVE Arcade gameEncleverment Experimentis finally makings its way to Xbox LIVE Marketplace. Gamerbytesis reporting that the title is set to hit the service in the next few weeks, with theofficial Twitter accountof the game offering the vague “coming very soon.” The game has Professor Ivor Question putting players to the test, as he has them solving puzzles, memory games, and more in a series of fast-paced challenges....
