Fat Princesshas been a long time coming. As an online-focused, cartoon-like game full of humor and violence, it could realistically be seen as the PSN’s answer toCastle Crashers(at least untilCastle Crasherswas confirmed for PSN). It’s quite fitting, then, that a number of overbearing connection issues and lag have managed to rain onFat Princess‘ launch parade, as it very much did for The Behemoth’s last downloadable title. Despite the multiplayer problems, I’ve been persevering with Titan Studios’ adorable mix of real-time strategy and hack-n’-slash gameplay in a bid to see if staring at endless loading screens is rewarded with some good old-fashioned fun....

After a short run against the Washington Redskins, the dreaded notice came up: “B. [Brandon] Jacobs is going to be evaluated by team doctors.” The New York Giants subbed in their smaller, faster running back, Ahmad Bradshaw, while I sat on the edge of my seat, wondering if Jacobs was going to be okay. As you may have noticed from our review of the firstRolando, Destructoid really liked the game a lot and wondered might be next up from developersHandCircus. Apparently, that next project was a sequel to the cute iPhone/iTouch title. CalledRolando 2: Quest For the Golden Orchid, the game has a lot of memorable new faces (check out the website to learn more about them) and sports the same colorful look that made the first game popular....

Earlier this month, EA Canada’s Community Manager, Alain Quinto, tweeted that EA Sports is planning toreveal a brand-new game in January. We’ve been curious as to what the new title could be, and sources close to the project have informed us that the new IP will be a football game for the Wii. Before you go running off — no, this isn’t going to be anotherMaddengame. The game is currently calledNFL Trainer, and it’s all about getting players to do football-based exercises and workouts....

The revised rumors say that the Square Enix RPG is a PS3 exclusive now, and that we’ll be hearing more about it prior to the expected E3 debut by Square Enix, and now Sony. With Comic-Con having opened its doors to the public, a number of rumors quickly sprung up concerning trouble at the Capcom booth. There have been allegations of disturbances due to the cancellation ofMega Man Legends 3, but it seems they’re all nonsense. Capcom itself has killed off a rumor that Mega Man cosplayers were being turned away from its booth by security, and that anybody who dared utter the franchise’s name was to be cast out....

In shocking non-videogame related news, American music festival Lollapalooza still exists. The festival, conceived by Jane’s Addiction front-man Perry Farrell in the early-90s, was once a traveling circus of semi-relevant, eclectic mix of musicians. Years later, it crashed and burned when the tour organizers realized that Americans don’t like going outdoors or paying $40 to see one band they like perform for 35 minutes. The latest incarnation of Lollapalooza is a three day festival that will take place in Chicago, starting on August 3....

Sony has revealed that the impressive specifications for itsPSP successorcould have been even more astounding if price wasn’t an issue. The NGP apparently had a few more tricks up its sleeve, but they were nipped in the bud to keep the system affordable. “I can’t talk about a definitive price at this stage. But since the very beginning we had a target in mind. So, when considering various features, we always had our price range in mind,” said SCE Worldwide Studios boss Shuhei Yoshida....

While songs from Nickelodeon’s upcoming TV movieSpectacular!were not on your list of4400 tracksyou’d like to see inRock Bandin 2009, it doesn’t matter. They’re coming anyway. Sony Pictures Home Entertainmenthas announcedplans to release two musical tracks from the movie — “Break My Heart” and “Don’t Tell Me” — for theRock Bandplatform (PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions) starting next week. Each track will cost $.99, which seems to be the going rate for tracks you guys probably don’t care about....

According to two job listings — spotted byGamasutraand subsequently removed — Sony Computer Entertainment America is looking to build a team of experts in its bid to strengthen its anti-piracy measures and tackle the recenthackery shenaniganshead-on. Both positions would be responsible for building an “anti-piracy program” with a “strong strategic online component.” Sony asked for a senior paralegal and a senior corporate counsel with knowledge of trademark and copyright law, online investigative practices, online databases, anti-piracy and DMCA products....
