Love Plus Christmas event gives cake, augments reality

[As posted onJapanator] Thelife-ruiningawesome dating simulatorLove Plusdoes a fine job of adding to the bleak wasteland that is the 3D world on its own, but it seems Konami has yet more plans in store for otaku and their DS-bound waifus. This Christmas (or“Plusmas” as they’d like you to call it), three hip cake stores in Tokyo are set to sell a bunch ofLove Pluscakes for about 1500 yen apiece. Max interviews Matt Carofano about Skyrim

Bethesda broughtSkyrimto PAX (surprise) and with it a giant prop of a dragon. I mean, just look at the size of the thing in the video. It’shuge.I wonder what they’ll do with it once they pack up and leave. Surely they’re not just going to throw it away; that would be a waste of a giant statue of a freaking dragon! Well, on to the interview. Max didn’t spare any questions this time, getting in all of his own and a lot of user questions as well....

Maxing out in Modern Warfare 2 without killing anyone

That’s the genius mission of oneModern Warfare 2player. First off, is it even possible to hit level 70 without achieving a single kill? Well, yeah — you may get experience points in modes like Domination by capturing control points. But, more importantly, wouldn’t such a goal take a ridiculously long time to pursue? Game Informer reader Glen McCracken, the guy who’s going after this pacifist objective, thinks it’ll take him a solid two months of multiplayer battles to reach the level cap....

Microsoft: PSN outages are bad, but Xbox Live is okay!

Say what you will about Microsoft, but one cannot deny its douchebaggery is of thehighest quality. The company has responded to the recentPlayStation Network downtime, offering its condolences to affected players, but reminding everyone that they can still use Xbox Live if they want to. Classy! “Of course it’s regretful that Sony is encountering issues at such a busy time, and Microsoft takes no joy in the problems gamers are having playing their favourite games online,” said an MS rep....

Namco’s E3 announcements may include Natal, Move and 3D

CVG recently spoke with Namco Bandai Partners Vice President Oliver Compte where he gave some insight into the company’s future plans. Asked about Natal, Move and 3D, Compte had to be somewhat evasive, claiming that an embargo prevented him from speaking about the subjects. He did, however, state that Namco Bandai would have announcements at E3 next week relating to these topics. I don’t know if that means a 3DPac-Mangame or motion-controlledTekkenor what, but something of some sort will be announced and it will either move or have three dimensions to it....

NES Varsity jacket awesome or awful? You decide!

I’ve never been much for the varsity look personally, but since the NES controller is popping up on everything from wallets to underwear lately I can’t say I’m very surprised to see it on a jacket. 80s Teeshas these for sale for $200 a pop and claims they are getting down to the last of their stock (the jackets are limited to a run of 1000). That’s kind of pricey for a gamer, but it looks like a quality item, if not a little … obnoxious?...
